In Virginia, a man is in police custody after a child reported that he had repeatedly touched them inappropriately.

The young victim had disclosed to their father that Daniel Saldana, 33, had engaged in the activity on multiple occasions. The victim further stated that they had not previously revealed this information out of fear of not being allowed to see Saldana anymore.

Upon hearing the child's account of what had happened, the father went to Saldana's house to fight him, prompting a bystander to call 9-1-1. When police heard the father's and the victim's report, a warrant was issued for Saldana's arrest.

He was arrested and charged with 1st degree criminal sexual conduct, indicating penetration of a victim under 13. If convicted, Saldana faces a maximum possible sentence of 30 years in prison and/or a $30,000 fine. Sentencing is based on criminal history. Saldana remains in Cottonwood County Jail on bail set at $50,000 with conditions or $100,000 without.
